Green Gown Award for Leeds Trinity And All Saints

Leeds Trinity And All Saints has gained national recognition for environmental initiatives with a Green Gown Award.

The Horsforth higher education college was “highly commended” in the College category for sustainable initiatives in travel and transport, learning and teaching, operational efficiency, recycling and waste management and biodiversity. Leeds Trinity also recently achieved Fairtrade status and an award for its contribution to Horsforth in Bloom.

Mark Shields, Leeds Trinity’s Assistant Principal (Resources) said, “We have a wonderful campus and we want to develop it in a sustainable way. The award shows how much progress we have made over the past couple of years.”

The awards were presented at the annual conference of the Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges at Durham University by Alan Knight, OBE.

Karl Baxter, who received the award on behalf of Leeds Trinity, said, “I am delighted that we have received this commendation in recognition of our environmental efforts. Our sustainable initiatives, particularly the travel plan, will have positive benefits not only for our staff and students but for the local community too.”
